OPEN AROUND MAY-SEPTEMBER

An actual street running along old shipyard buildings. An unappealing post-industrial area off-season, it transforms into a bustling open air event space, with a unique backdrop of authentic shipyard cranes, between May and September. Ulica Elektryków (Electricians' Street) is then lined with food stalls, filled with sunchairs and a friendly crowd of electronic music fans - as this is the genre prevailing during the weekend live music events.

A cultural project framed by more than a dozen shipyard containers, where you can discover local creatives, buy vinyl records, get a tattoo or simply relax on a sunchair during the day. In the evenings, the largely open-air space of 100cznia (pronounced stohtch-nyah) regularly hosts various events, including live music performances and parties. The 9 street food options, with plenty of varied choice for vegans and carnivores alike, are reason alone to show up here, just like the inimitable atmosphere of the post-industrial surroundings.

A 5 storey bunker from 1941 transformed into a multifunctional space with 2 bars, 2 dancefloors/concert venues and an art gallery on the top floor. It has large themed lounges and a truly unique atmosphere that can only be found in this type of building. Jam sessions on Wednesdays and club parties on weekends. Free admission on Thursdays.

During the day you can sip on an Aperol Spritz in the summer garden next to the Neptune's Fountain. When night falls, the inside of the restaurant turns into a dance club where the DJ serves current hits. There's a big bar and a separate smoking area. While touristy, due to its central location, it can certainly be enjoyable.

On the corner of Stągiewna Street and Chmielna Street, White Rabbit refers to Jack Daniel's first whiskey bar in Lynchburg, US. The two storey venue boasts hearty cuisine (Polish and American), great whiskey and an edgy party atmosphere. Underground, there's a bar and dance floor, where you can dance the night away or sing karaoke.

This club on the campus of the University of Technology has been entertaining Gdansk's students for decades and continues to do so successfully in the 21st century. With 2 dancefloors, it's the biggest student club in the city. It also hosts rock concerts and various cultural events. The parties on Thursday, Friday and Saturday start at 10 p.m.

Formerly known as Mechanik, it has always been one of the favourite clubs of the students in Gdansk. Located downstairs of one of the dormitories, it has been given a fresh look in 2017, inspired by Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange film. Music flavours change from event to event. The upper level is a pub area and below there's the dancefloor/concert room.

Sitting on the the Motlawa river bank the club has a nice deck to hang around in the summer, while its inside seats 140 people and boasts a good-sized dancefloor and a well-stocked bar. Popular amongst tourists due to its heart-of-the-action and picturesque location. The music is mixed but tends towards dance tunes. Karaoke on Thursdays.

Arguably the most popular dance club in the Main Town of Gdansk. A big bar area, a spacious dancefloor, concert stage and and the surrounding balconies add up to 1000 sq m. After 12 a.m. on Thursday and Friday entrance is possible only from the back - Teatralna Street. The door selection can be strict, so dress up and carry an ID with you. Leaving your coat in the cloak-room is obligatory (additional fee). The music covers almost every genre, from house and electro to r'n'b and hip hop, with occasional rock tunes.
