The Gdansk Book Fair (Gdańskie Tarki Książki) is the biggest event in the region dedicated to literature. This year’s comprehensive programme focuses on Balkan literature, with authors from Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Montenegro. read more

St Dominic's Fair 2020
For the 760th time the St Dominic's Fair will spread throughout the Main Town of Gdansk. Stands selling artworks, crafts, jewellery, antiques, as well as clothes, household items, handmade toys and local food products, occupy several streets and squares on this occasion. Usually, those three weeks are also filled with many cultural events, such as music concerts and theatre plays. However, due to the current situation the final format of this year's fair is to be confirmed. read more

15th International Street & Open-Air Theatres Festival FETA
CANCELLED IN 2020 FETA brings together street theatre crews from all over the world, who perform their spectacles in various open-air locations in the Dolne Miasto district (south from the Main Town are of Gdansk). It's held regularly since 1997 and brings theatre art closer to the audience. The spectacles are mostly free and attract people of all ages. Kolosy Travellers Meeting
CANCELLED Kolosy is the largest event for travellers and travel enthusiasts in Poland. For three days the audience can watch multimedia presentations from people, who sailed, climbed and explored remote corners of the world. Presentations are commented mainly in Polish, but most of the time it's worth to see them, if only for the beautiful photos and videos. The entrance is free, but prepare for very long lines. On the 11th of November Poland celebrates Independence Day and a parade is held in all major cities across the country. In Gdansk, people will gather around Podwale Staromiejskie Street from 8.30 a.m., in order to start the parade at 9.30 a.m. The procession of people (many dressed in uniforms and other historical costimes) and various vehicles will move through Podmłyńska Street, Rajska Street, Heweliusza Street, Korzenna Street, Kowalska Street, up to the Jan III Sobieski monument and, finally, Długa Street and the Long Market. read more
