Polish Baltic Philharmonic

Description:

The unique building currently housing the institution was formerly a power station built at the end of the 19th century. It is situated on the island of Ołowianka, now connected with the Main Town grid by a footbridge running over the Motlawa river. The Baltic Philharmonic was founded in 1945, along with the Symphony Orchestra. Apart from regular concerts, it hosts well-known festivals – the Siesta Festival in April and the Solidarity of Arts Festival in August.
